Daniel J. Houlihan, Jr. has been continuously employed in the real estate business since 1978 and became a principal of Houlihan & O’ Malley Real Estate Services in 1984.
Mr. Houlihan graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York in 1975, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. After graduating Mr. Houlihan was employed by the international accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). In 1978 he left the public accounting field and was employed at Houlihan & O’Malley Real Estate Services, formerly Walter P. O’Malley & Company. In 1984 Mr. Houlihan purchased the firm and has been its president since that time.
Mr. Houlihan is a licensed real estate broker, a Certified Public Accountant and holds the MAI designation of The Appraisal Institute. Since 1978 he has been continuously active in the ownership, sale, leasing, management and valuation of real estate. During his career he has been involved in transactions valued at, conservatively, $900 million.
He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the Westchester County Board of Realtors, the Bronx-Manhattan Board of Realtors and the Appraisal Institute.
He is a former member of the board of directors of the Metro New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and presently serves as a Regional Representative for the Chapter.
Mr. Houlihan is a former member of the faculty of NYU Real Estate Institute, where he was a lecturer in real estate. He is presently a qualified instructor for the Appraisal Institute.
He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of The Academy Of Mt. St. Ursula, a girls Catholic High School located in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx. His service to this school spans a period of 25 years.
